Tan Son Nhat (SGN) pre-arrival form: what you need to know
Short answer: Since 15 April 2026, Tan Son Nhat airport (SGN) has run a pilot online form for foreign arrivals. You fill it in within 3 days before landing and get a QR code to show at immigration. Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security calls it a pilot, recommended; the US Embassy says it's required. Our advice is simple: fill it in, and only at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn.
vnpriority.com is a private travel service, not a government body. This form is not a visa and doesn't replace your eVisa or visa exemption. Last checked: 22 Oct 2026

Why the sources disagree
- Ministry of Public Security and Vietnam's consulates: pilot, encouraged, not mandatory.
- US Embassy (22 Apr 2026): says foreign passport holders "must" complete it.
It takes a few minutes, so filling it in avoids any problem either way.
Step by step
- Open prearrival.immigration.gov.vn (type it yourself, don't click ads).
- Choose your language.
- Click "Create and submit declaration" and enter the CAPTCHA.
- Fill in passenger details, then visa details, then flight details.
- Submit, then save or print the QR code.
Most common mistake: a flight number that doesn't match your airline booking. Copy it exactly.
Spot a fake pre-arrival site
- The address is exactly prearrival.immigration.gov.vn
- None of the government notices mention a fee, so a site asking for payment is a warning sign
- Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has warned about look-alike sites stealing card details
